The University of Washington was recognized this week in two separate rankings for its global impact in teaching and research, as well as for its value to graduates compared to cost of attendance.

The UW ranked No. 26 on the Times Higher Education world reputation rankings for 2020, released Tuesday, moving up two spots from 2019. The UW remains fourth among U.S. public institutions in this ranking — behind UCLA, University of California Berkeley and the University of Michigan.

Meanwhile, UW Bothell was rated the No. 1 public university in the country by CNBC Make It on its list of schools that “pay off the most.” The UW’s Seattle campus ranked No. 3 in the nation on that list. CNBC Make It, in its second college rankings, determined schools that “pay off the most” — both public and private – based on students’ average salaries in comparison to their universities’ tuition cost.
