Biography

Dr. Robinson was born and raised in a small farm town in Minnesota. She attended undergrad and medical school at the University of Minnesota. As a freshman in college, she began working as a research assistant in the division of rheumatology, where she worked for the next 10 years. She then moved to Durham, North Carolina where she completed residency training in internal medicine at Duke University Hospital. Her major career interest is in understanding how we can better deliver care to rural communities and performing clinical research. Outside of medicine, Dr. Robinson enjoys cooking, mountain biking, and spending time with family.

Why UW? 

"I am very thankful to get to train at UW for rheumatology fellowship as it is where almost all of my mentors have trained. Seattle is one of the largest hubs for immunology research. Being able to work at three hospital systems – UW, the Veteran Affairs Hospital, and Harborview – is important to me. Finally, Washington has some of the best food & produce around and I love to be outdoors, so the PNW is a naturally great fit."

Why Rheumatology? 

“I am fascinated by the immune system, working with complex diagnoses, and having longitudinal care with patients. I also appreciate the great lengths that many patients go through to get diagnosed and can relate to many access to care barriers. The field of rheumatology is constantly changing which is exciting to be part of and offers optimism for previously hard to treat conditions.”
