Biography:

Dr. Asawari Pagare earned her PhD in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her doctoral research explored the dynamics of signal transduction in molecular sensors through the lens of information theory and stochastic dynamics. She developed theoretical frameworks that explain physiological observations, including disease-causing alterations in biological systems that can inform the design of biological sensors. Her work on signal transduction optimization and sensor adaptation analysis in pharmacology models aimed to enhance efficacious therapy development, offering insight into therapeutic strategies that target the temporal dynamics of receptors rather than relying solely on their stationary structural properties.

Dr. Pagare’s doctoral research drew her toward the broader complexity of biological systems and a deeper interest in understanding disease at the level of genomics.

Dr. Pagare now works on uncovering the genetic drivers of autoimmune disease with the goal of enabling precise, targeted therapies.
