Research Interests: 

Dr. Gardner is currently involved in clinical care and clinical research in the area of autoimmune lung diseases.  He is an attending physician in the combined Interstitial Lung Disease/Rheumatology Clinic at University of Washington Medical Center.  As of July 2022 he is limiting his clinical care to patients with autoimmune lung diseases

He is also involved in the rheumatology care to several Northwest Native American tribes, many of whom have high rates of autoimmune diseases especially rheumatoid arthritis
